dryslot
This December is right out of the 60s playbook. If the pattern continues as I think it will Jan will be very cold and periods of storms, February is when big dogs happen. Not to many of us here have 1 st hand memory's of this

moneypitmike
00Z GFS is an ice storm here Sunday. Congrats if that plays out. I'm having a melt storm. The qpf chicken has come home to roost on the GFS.
N. OF PIKE
Well, im heading to n.conway /Bartlett sat pm. Here's hoping for ice ice baby.
Logan11
Up there I don't think the GFS or Euro ever warm 2M above 0C. But 2 or 3 inches of cold rain/freezing rain can't be great for skiing. CoastalWx
As we thought, it will be bad.
Logan11
The Euro torches 850 to record breaking levels, but at 2M its in the mid 20s in the Champlain Valley and most of Maine north of PWM. Teens north of Bangor. Looks like it's targeting the 1998 ice storm zone for a bad ice storm this time.
nutmegfriar
Power crews could be spending their holiday week up north.

REDMK6GLI
Glad im not getting an ice storm and i mostly live where its either snow or rain predominately (Long Island). Going forward though that 60-61 analog that is being thrown around is a pretty good match up for january and maybe so on. Only harbinger i have is when and if the NAO going negative develops to get some big dogs in here. On a side note i finally ordered volume 1/2 of northeast snowstorms by paul kocin/louis uccelini, cant wait to get them tommorow!
CoastalWx
Can we keep the December pattern thoughts in Tippy's thread? Too many threads on December.
Cold Miser
Keeping the rain in SNE at a minimum at this point would be nice. Please see what you can do. Thanks.
