Earlier snow cover map posted by Blizz was pretty remarkable. Not bad for 12/11.

ORH_wxman
euro is rather grinchy after the middle of next week still. Hopefully the fate of that warmup is the same as the previous week's worth that seemingly have never materialized as we get closer. That is obscene cold north in Canada though...hopefully the boundary oozes south enough so we stay out of the tropics.
Heisy
Massive cutter forming 216 hours, its transient so it could help usher in a new cold pattern. Def. a brief warmup ahead of the front though

ORH_wxman
Was there a warmup in 93-94 or one that melted total pack? Mid-late Feb '94 melted it for some...I know back here we hung onto it but not by a lot, but BOS lost it for a couple days. Feb 15-20, 1994 was a pretty big torch. Gets forgotten though bcause we went back to cold/snow right after.
cut
2 warm days might be good for pond skating. The ice isn't strong enough to hold any one up to clear it, so the water will soak into the thin layer of snow and give that terrible oatmeal surface - at least here in southern CT. Bright side
