November 27th Storm (snow, sleet, rain - something maybe for everyone)

Recommended Posts

Latest Wxsim forecast for NW Chesco has precipitation arriving by noon tomorrow mainly just light mixed precip with temps just above freezing. However by 4pm it has the temps falling to below freezing and staying there through 9pm (during that time 0.40" falls as ZR) then we transition to a heavy rain with 2.78" of much needed precipitation. Could be a very messy evening commute in the NW burbs tomorrow.

EC looks a bit more interesting with regard to something frozen on the front end along I-95.  Would like to see the GFS or NAM bite too before I get more interested.

a very minor (50 mile shift east) could keep it below freezing here for most of the event.  Probably more freezing rain / sleet than anything else.   But with all that qpf....pshh

models still aren't that great handling trapped cold air in valleys.

Some people never change :D

Latest Wxsim has light flurries by 11am with temps just above freezing

Off an on light mixed precip through 330pm then as intensity increases a bit temps will fall back to just below freezing and remain there from 330pm thru 700pm with 0.29" of frozen falling. Temps will then start rising into the low 40's and continue thru tomorrow ending by evening tomorrow, Total liquid 2.87"
