Ian, I think overall, the models did a pretty stellar job except for the 4 inch runs of the nam and the early suppressed GFS. Once they locked onto the forecast they said there would be precip with the vort but the surface temps would be a big problem.  That's why I hate those snow maps. In marginal situations with warm surface temps they forecast snow and unless you get a real strong precip burst,  you end up with a slight rain and sometimes mix.

Yep, agree all around. Looks like all the airports are within a few hundredths of 2.25" thru 3p.
