Clinch Leatherwood
Well there are outages scattered all over and winds may have been a bit stronger there. Definitely was some good wind. It's the trees. People don't want the limbs cut because the trees don't look as nice....then storms bring limbs into wires.

CT Rain
your high wind gust was 28? Death valley Huh? If I lived at an airport and had a 10 meter pole to stick an anemometer on I'm guessing my wind velocity would have been more impressive.

ORH_wxman
28F at BDL is the 8th coldest max temp in November since 1949. A bit more common than once a decade kind of cold. Slightly better at ORH...24F was the 5th coldest November max temp since 1948.
CoastalWx
This isn't fake cold like radiational cooling. Winds staying up was due to this being the real deal.

CoastalWx
That little knoll you live on will bring out a lot of highs and lows for you. It will be interesting. I don't expect significant differences in temps from here to sea level which is only 120', but it's going to rip from the N and NE during storms since there is nothing in the way as you look out that way.
