Damage In Tolland
Word is that substation and transmission line damaged today is pretty significant. Those poor folks with no heat and power in Tolland, Stafford and Willington . They say may not be fixed till tomorrow am. Tolland High and Middle school both have no power

ORH_wxman
Makes a little sense, because we're talking temps out there more indicative of January. We've also had a dearth of really big December cold outbreaks (in today's case, November, lol) in recent years. There's been very few records since 1989 in that month around here. December 2000 had some solid cold here, but the bulk of it was west of us (I'm sure you saw some December 2000 references out in Iowa, lol)
