Potential Record Breaking Cold Sunday/Sunday Night---Late Nov Discussion

Winds here have been sort of run of the mil (cold front wise)l, as far as myself being out for several periods during the day. Perhaps i am in a sheltered area, what do we have for high gusts today at the big 4?

I recall a period of winds on a monday either last week or the week before (like 3-7 am) that seem'd the same, but i could be off.

Took a walk to the beaver pond earlier today--it was frozen for the first 20' or so, but open beyond that.  The wind will likely make the continued freezing more difficult, but I'm eager to see how it looks tomorrow (it's about 1500' across, so I'll be doing a lot of guessing).

Just had sustained 30mph

I said it with Sandy and was laughed at - there's something different about the wiring here.  75% of my town is out now (about 4600 customers).

That is just crazy.  We lose power a lot here in the hinterlands, but then again, we're in the circle of the 9 towns in western mass that don't even have high speed internet.  Thank God I live on the one street that has cable!!

Edit:  might get a precursor to Gilette during the Giant's game.  It won't be nearly as bad.  But, there's something funny to be sitting here comfortably next to the stove watching the crazy folks in the stands.  I'll take my seat any day.

Some record low temperatures for 11/25 for select cities:

Bangor: 4°. 1939

Boston: 13°, 1938

Burlington: -1°, 1938 (earliest subzero low on record)

Caribou: 0°, 1956

Concord: 5°, 2000

Mt. Washington: -11°, 2005

Nantucket: 16°, 2000

New Bedford: 11°, 2000

Pittsfield: 6°, 2000

Portland: 9°, 2000

Providence: 12°, 1938

Worcester: 9°, 1936

FWIW, Mt. Washington may have had a subzero high temperature today. That would surpass the daily record for lowest maximum reading of 1° set in 1956.

BTW....the NAM changed.  Second impulse now waits to become the main deepener and does so further east. RN to SN here and into western Mass. For 12 hours it snows here...h72 to h84.  Looks pretty to look at anyway.

I was wondering about that--I couldn't see it clearly.  I'll toss for now.  :)

Lol at the Refs pants on the Giants game, ripping winds billowing them. Mic sounds like he's recording a hurricane.

They're showing the the Packers game up here until it ends beofre switching over.

Oops--just ended in a tie.
