wxeyeNH
How does one define 'white out' at night? Flurries here, looks like a decent shot in Deerfield/Whately. 24.6/19 I can define white out to me. When a squall went through here an hour ago I could not make out my neighbors house right across the street. Vis goes down to several hundred feet. I never saw that when I lived in the Boston area, not even in Noreasters. Doesn't last too long but snow squalls up here can be very intense. I havepicked up 2-3" inches in about 20 to 30 minutes in some of these mountain squalls!
TalcottWx
The fact that you're not on the field at Gilette tomorrow night helps you feel that way. 23.8/18 If you gave me a free ticket I'd pay you to take it back

moneypitmike
Three/four blissful hours in October of 2011, ftw. Temp hardly doing a steady decline here. Obviously trending downward but with several reversals along the way. Had gone down to 23.8 about an hour ago, now back up to 24.5. Teens before midnight will be a fail, alas. eyewall
Definitely not weenie posts when it comes to mentioning white outs! I took this on my street in Winooski earlier this evening when an intense squall dumped 1.8" in 30 minutes or so:
Heisy
Quick question, maybe just bad observations, but I don't remember seeing a shortwave as far south as this week's storm is progged to dig in a while. Is this a sign of a better southern jet, el nino influence, or just a random kind of thing?

At 3-4 days I'd think we still see the models bounce some. I bet you north and northwest dwellers do ok.
wxmanmitch
21.4° F and dropping. Hoping to dip below 20° F by midnight, but I think I'll be just above it. 2K already down to 17-18° F, so a sub 20° F high is a virtual lock there.
