TalcottWx
Looks like the trajectory takes it south of Boston....Hallucinating maybe. Great to feel the excitement.Nah your right. We can hope the little appendage to the north of the echo heading to ORH strengthens and improves since the real cold air is moving east now
TauntonBlizzard2013
Snow showers are hit and miss. More often than not, a miss. I wouldn't get worked up. No big deal. Happy for everyone getting a nice surprise
Professional Lurker
Just got home from keene, as soon as we approached mass, I noticed the temp rapidly drop from 31 to 27 in two miles. Then when we crossed the line into ma I noticed that the roads had been treated. By the center of northfield there was a solid dusting, but the stars were out.... CapturedNature
Stars back out. 28.6 I got a nice coating up here with the "styrofoam" snowballs that always look neat. Colder air is slowly filtering in - 29° here and 26° up in Union.

wxeyeNH
Round after round of snow squalls up here in Central NH. Wind has picked up markedly in the past hour, roaring through the trees. Lots of blowing snow. Temps just slowly going down 26.2F about 1 1/2" of snow. Roads must be a mess since they have not had to be treated this year till tonight. ROOSTA
Fascinating Northeast radar mosaic. Great Lakes- almost every lake has an LES event ongoing. Been a longtime and can't remember the last.
moneypitmike
(TRAFFIC ALERT) 20:28 LOC:ROUTE 2 W/B AT MT ELAM RD - FITCHBURG,MA : 2 SEPARATE MULTI VEHICLE ACCIDENTS. TOTAL OF 10 CARS INVOLVED. 2 LANES CLOSED. ROADS ICY: Maybe not ice related. Perhaps that random traffic light at Mt. Elam RD was actually red and everyone had to slam on their brakes. (Isn't that where that is???). I mean technically you only need to hit those values once to verify, and I think the formatter picks out the highest values to put in the headline product. So yes, generally we like to see those match. Thanks--hopefully we'll have lots of verifications with over-producing winds. Winds picking up here--as is the temp. 26.1/16 (up from 25.6 half an hour ago). Gusted to 20mph in the last couple minutes.

TheSnowman
JUST Saw my first flakes of the year while at MIT looking across the Charles River at the beautiful skyline that is Boston!!!! Finally saw some as I was in Texas during the official first flakes. Did I honestly just miss a squall in my hometown as I'm driving home from Boston? powderfreak
Another decent burst moving through...might put me over 2" on the evening. Now let the arctic hounds in...blowing snow off the roof, no grass showing, now I'm ready for the big chill. As a famous poster once said, "it's deep deep winter out there." First widespread accumulation grid I've needed.Saw a photo looks like a nice squall.Nam now looks like some of the earlier Gfs runs. Not digging the northern energy like it was earlier. At least by 51 it looks a lot like the old Gfs runs with the placement of the northern feature considerably further north. Edit. At least initially it's not interacting as much...northern stream doesn't dip as far and the southern stream lags. It's nowhere near as amped. Just the nam but interesting that the changes were noticeable within the first 24. Changes coming from the rest of the suite or the nam just stinking?
