powderfreak
Whoops---there it is. Their outline is showing coast, coast, coast. That looks prudent right now given the ensembles and the lead time we are working with right now... plenty of time to change it but the highest threat of significant snows are definitely in that area right now. Mr. Windcredible!
In terms of time frame...assuming the Euro is a bit too slow with the evolution of the system, we really may only be about 5 days out from snow breaking out in coastal regions. I think there's a lot of reason to be optimistic for at least a MECS at this point. I think we're still a couple days away from knowing if the signals for something greater are legit. Also, here's to hoping the next couple days break the radio show curse for SNE
weatherMA
I hope you guys get moderate snowfall but to be honest I really hope this doesnt turn out to be as big as most models are making it. If i miss anything over like a foot Im going to be so pissed.

Wx4cast
Not according to Andy. He has sleet going clear to the NY border. I said its possible. BAsed purely on both pattern recognition and prior experience with deep storms tucked in west of the BM. He's the only one saying that..not likely See above. When you're pinging or snow and sleet mixed then you can spin I sure hope not! What's your take on surface winds on the EC? Just for sh*ts and giggles. I remember in '93 I was living in Stamford. What a disappointment when the sleet moved in. I guess the same was true for '96. I'm so glad I've moved away from coastal influences. Even in ME it screwed me. Of course, I was still averaging 80"+ in spite of that screwing up there

Typhoon Tip
18z DGEX OTS yep, swooped in to save the day with this post j/k, yeah, that model is based off the GFS input and since the 06z was unraveling it makes a lot of sense that it's lost it. frankly, it's a frankenmodel and shouldn't be taken too seriously. it's either the NAM grid in the GFS, or the other way around, and that's like sewing Will's head on Kevin's body and asking it to draw a weather map -

Gibbsfreeenergy
Welcome to the web page of the NCEP Downscaled GFS by NAM Extension (DGEX) forecast. The DGEX is initialized by interpolating the 78-h operational NAM forecast to a smaller 12-km domain. A 78-h to 192-h forecast of the WRF-NMM is made (same version that is running in the NAM), using the previous 6-h old GFS forecast for lateral boundary conditions. Click here to see the computational domain of the DGEX runs over the CONUS and Alaska http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/mmbpll/dgexhome.ops/

Are you from Branford? One of my early girlfriends was from there. Why a NL boy was going to Branford is a bit of amyster. Probably because that was the only place I was getting anywhere. lol
