famartin
Anyone else having this problem? I checked my account settings but they seem unchanged from before... Also, ever since this "new" forum was started (in name only, really ), I have been getting the topic reply notification e-mails in bunches... sometimes 100 at a time after several hours of nothing. On the "old" forum they were usually instantaneous. Anyone else notice that, too?

Today I added a topic to watch, yet it isn't yet showing up in "My Content". I guess that's based on where I post vs what I'm watching.
famartin
I just got 173 e-mails all at once, I guess since they went out of "storm mode". I'd really wish the e-mails were coming just like they did at Eastern (always regardless of "storm mode" and instantaneously instead of bunched together)... k***
what's the utility of getting these emails?
famartin
what's the utility of getting these emails? 1) I don't have to remember what topics to check for replies, I'm automatically notified if there's a reply. 2) The e-mail link sends me to the first new response since I read the topic, as opposed to having to remember or guess where I left off reading it. 3) I don't have to remain on the board website hitting refresh if I'm eager for any reply, I can just check my e-mail. I was unable to get any replies when I based my address on a yahoo or hotmail address. I received notifications every three (3) hours on a gmail address. I switch to an AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) address recently, just for this forum and it seems to be working nicely. I suppose Yahoo and Hotmail still consider this board to be the equivalent of a seller of herbal Viagra.

JBG
not using a free email account tho- it's my cable/internet provider address. ??? any other thoughts? I don't know if it's the "free" characteristics, or if someone, somehow accidentally listed this board or server as a SPAM producer which it isn't. Kevin W
I subscribed to a thread and checked "Instant Notification" via email. It's never instant. Sometimes it takes hours to get an email. I use GMail.
Wow
Ah, now that's insightful... now, how to convince Yahoo that this board is legit... Yahoo is quite hostile with our emails. Spam blockers have been on our butt the entire time. It makes registration very frustrating.
weatherwiz
1) I don't have to remember what topics to check for replies, I'm automatically notified if there's a reply. 2) The e-mail link sends me to the first new response since I read the topic, as opposed to having to remember or guess where I left off reading it. 3) I don't have to remain on the board website hitting refresh if I'm eager for any reply, I can just check my e-mail. I can help you resolve this issue, next to the topic title, just to the left of it, you'll see a little orange arrow, if you click on that it will automatically take you to the last spot you were at.
