Chicago Storm
LOT went with a high wind warning for portions of the CWA... THE OTHER HIGHLIGHT IS THE SYNOPTIC NON-THUNDERSTORM WINDS.SOUTHERLY SPEEDS WILL INCREASE THROUGH THE MORNING...ESPECIALLY IFANY MEANINGFUL CLEARING CAN OCCUR AS PRESSURE FALLS INCREASE AHEADOF THE LOW. THE BIGGEST CONCERN HOWEVER IS WINDS BEHIND THE COLDFRONT WHICH WILL CROSS THE AREA LATER THIS AFTERNOON. THE STRONGGRADIENT AND ASSOCIATED PRESSURE RISES ARE EXPECTED TO ALLOW FORSTRONG MIXING AND GENERATION OF WIND GUSTS THAT COULD TOP 50 KTACROSS MUCH OF THE CWA...ESPECIALLY FROM THE NORTHERN CHICAGOSUBURBS BACK TOWARDS THE MENDOTA AREA AND POINTS SOUTH. HAVEUPGRADED THIS PORTION OF THE WIND ADVISORY TO A HIGH WIND WARNINGTHIS AFTERNOON STARTING TOWARD MIDDAY...WITH THE HIGHESTWINDS...OUTSIDE OF STORMS...THIS AFTERNOON. stormtrackertf
Got some isolated heavy downpours last night but no prolonged rain or thunderstorm activity. Clear skies overhead for sunrise, at least here, right now...And of course everyone else goes with a High Wind Warning but DTX who goes watch. Chitown Storm
some clearing skies now along with super-fast moving dark clouds. Temp imby is already 62F. Just a really weird feeling in the air. Eastern part of LOT is high risk cat for severe storms. Today could be a very interesting day for a lot of us. Geos
If you're not in the severe thread - N, W, IL, sliver of E IA and WI are under tornado watches.
Chitown Storm
looks like they pulled the high risk area back to the west to cover most of N.IL. Live severe wx briefing right now to discuss the situation. Gonna be a rough ride today. Bears game at Soldier Field at noon. I hope everyone heeds the warnings. Something tells me not everyone will. The cam is located on the east side of town, about a half mile east of the Des Plaines river. Here's the link: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/libertyville-snow

SchaumburgStormer
Just had a 90mph estimated gust as the severe line rolled through. Tree in my back yard snapped in half and was thrown towards the house. Edit: Some siding torn off the south elevation of my house as well.

DAFF
Such an impressive storm, pushing a tornado watch into the northern lower of Michigan. To think 7 days ago they were under a LES snow event. I have a feeling there will be many people who get caught off guard with this one.
blue60007
Of course, I was out of town for this one. Looks like my place survived and mostly has power. Seeing numerous reports of trees and powerlines down all around town and campus. Purdue, West Laf, and lafayette police all requesting everyone stay indoors. LAF reported a 69 mph gust so not a surprise.
TimChgo9
1.13" of rain here locally. Winds are currently WNW @ 15, gusting to 45. Clouds and some light rain blowing around out there right now. We actually got about 30 minutes of sun today after the storms passed. Highest gust here during the storms was 41. No damage to report. wisconsinwx
Now it feels more like a typical fall system; wind, rain and dropping temperatures. The SE part of Milwaukee County is estimated to have received 2-3" of rain, with another quarter inch or a bit less still possible with this deformation zone. wisconsinwx
Never seen anything like this is just amazing the winds are really blowing here--70 mph easy Was that with the back end line of embedded storms that moved through the southern row of counties? Should have had a severe warning on them.

harrisale
Southerlies starting to pick up. Low level clouds are screaming by. Line of storms passing over will bring some strong gusts with 60kt+ 925 winds.
cyclone77
0.25" here today. Don't think the storms did much here. High winds didn't really materialize until east of here. EDIT: Chased over towards Streator IL today. By the time I got to it the storm that produced the Washington tornado had cycled. Decent structure, but didn't have hardly any time to stop and take pictures or anything. Here's a few vid captures that are of low quality. Kind of disappointed I missed the tornado, but I can't complain given the time of year.
Geos
Sounds like a hurricane is blowing outside! Sideways rain and winds gusting over 40mph here. Drove back from Kenosha and there was limbs littering the road. Impressive comma shape on radar. Edit: 1.00" of rain exactly between today and yesterday.
