Arctic front and some rain showers changing to snow showers

I think sw Ct over to sw RI stands a decent shot tommorrow 6-10 am , as there is some decent elevation (300-500ft) just several miles from the shoreline and i think it seems they are best situated to make best of sharpening trough.

Possible the hilly areas in se mass do well also, i think best precip likely sets up SE of the Easton/Foxboro areas w ok elevation so i would have much lower confidence, Also wondering if its like a 35f snow there after some rain.

Alot of that will probably be a 32-34f snow down there for the most part. Maybe hilly areas briefly fall below 32 if it comes down steady as Will mentioned.

It may fall slightly due to evaporational cooling in any shwrs before the front noes through, but it really won't fall until after frontal passge. Good luck, it's one of those events that either produces or nothing really at all. At least a coating is within reach I think down there. Maybe a bit more.

Yeah I agree, some will be pleasantly surprised and some will be disappointed. Not much more you can ask for this time of year though

Can anyone post a current map of temps (from like the mesonet) site , im havin challenge finding it. Is the front moving?

Can't see the front yet on the meso map...its still too far NW, on the regional plot its very visible in central VT back through places like Oneonta NY (betwene ALB and BGM)

Sharp front.  Staring at temps in the low 50s here with snow in the forecast just a few hours away.  Reminds me of what you hear about in the plains/Dakotas where it goes from 60 to 30 with these early season systems.

GFS was dragging it's feet with this system which is what the Euro was doing.  Looks like precip lingers down here possibly well into the day.

29F right now in Lyndonville Vermont at 750ft. Light to Moderate Snow. Dusting on all surfaces except roadways however light patches starting to form. Earlier this evening we have the quickest changeover I have ever seen. We went from Rain to Rain/Sleet to Sleet/Snow to Snow in 10mins went from 36 to 32F.

Not sure when things flipped here.  Looks like the temp drop began here at 2:00a.m.,

A few flakes in the air and can mark up a T.  Radar showing the back edge on the doorstep.  I guess I'll enjoy the cool weather the next two days and hope the following mild spell is short-lived.

31.2/26, peak wind gust of 18mph

Nada here. Just brief rain with the fropa. 31F

Yup--as lackluster as they come.

Hopefully the folks to the south (Kevin, Bob, etc.) can get something that was worth 7 pages of posts!!

Looking a little more closely--appears the front got here at 1:00a.m. with the spike of northwest winds and temps leading to the temp drop an hour later.

30.4/25

Saw a few flakes at 2:45. More at 5:15

Decent now at 5:56

Sticking on deck rails but that is about it

34.7/32

Congrats--amounted to no more than a flurry/brief snow shower here.  Alas.

Actually, temps don't appear terribly cool today.  ZFP's across the region range from mid-30's here to upper 30's for much of the rest of MA and northern RI to around 40 in BOX's CT zones.

So much for the question of whether melting occurs from the top or bottom that had been bandied about earlier.  Just about anything that does accumulate is likely short-lived.

Probably won't snow again. No dusting? Guess it's death by shawl for me.
