Damage In Tolland
Most impressive to me besides the Cape accumulation is the fact it did not melt away today.Just taken. Deep winters day. stayed below 32 all day. 29.2 currently

jamesnichols1989
I honestly can't think of a recent Nov event. There was an outer Cape OES event in '04 I believe. Actually that event was on December 15th 2004, where we got 4.5" out here on the OUter Cape.

jamesnichols1989
We got an official coating of snow on the ground as of 330pm EST. Beautiful sights here on the Cape. 1" amounts in the coldest locations where the snow first started to accumulate. Also the banding did organize in time for us here on the Cape to get a good coating of snow.

I honestly don't remember the event, we had two memorable snowfalls that winter, the Boxing Day Snowstorm of 2004 and the January 22-23rd 2005 Blizzard. 18" and 35" respectfully. jamesnichols1989
You had a big one at the end of Feb too. Basically the whole winter was memorable. True very true. Bourne has a much different climo than say Chatham, MA, that distance of 25-30 miles makes a huge difference especially in any true mesoscale banding that occurs. The Feb 28 and Mar 1st 2005 event gave us another 12" of snow, I think we had near 100" total that winter.

CapturedNature
Ruler pics like Wills on a snowboard eliminate the looks like statements, Phil, Tollands pic is now not this AM. Solid 1 inch reports from that area, how much did you get? One of the issues I noted this morning is (this happens every early snowfall) is that the flakes accumulated on top of the grass and those that didn't melted on the 40° ground leading to some yards looking like they had about 1/2" of snow. Other areas looked like the solid 1" of snow that several posters measured on snowboards or other surfaces. Today felt like a nice early winter day. High was 33° which beat my previous record of 36° set in 1987 and I should be able to beat my morning low record of 18° set in 2001. To have snow on the ground is a bonus - too bad the winds won't be dead calm for a good radiational cooling night. Union is currently 26°, FTW. Most places will end up with a mean temp of 35-40 unless they can make a run at the teens by midnight.

powderfreak
About 75% of todays snowfall is still OTG, temp is 28F. Yeah the only reason your losing some is probably the warm ground. It's melting from below if anything.
It's Always Sunny
I was nearby when I took that pic. I bet they had a bit more after that was taken. Definitely elevation dependent. 0.2" was measured there with a ratio of 1:4. First measurable snowfall of the season there which should come as no surprise. Baroclinic Zone
Looks like I got more snow at home than t work. Couple spots in the yard with some snow still left, albeit a dusting. So my guess would be 1/4"-1/2" fell at most.
