RAH just issued a SWS for mixed bag, most in the triangle should see some flakes over the next hour or two as the  band between Greensboro and Roxboro pushes SE.  Is everyone around CLT still -RN?

NW of Charlotte here in Hickory, I barely saw a sprinkle reach the ground.  Too bad.  38.5 F, at the moment.  Jealous of others right now...

I love the Rap's big snowfall gap over my back yard.  Haha.  Still getting wetter for the midlands of sc.. but the temps are back and forth.

went from 0.03 precip to 0.15 in some areas.

Edit: and now the low res takes it away from 21z.

22z brings it back :P

Seeing some flakes mix in at UNCC. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me haha

Nice!

-IP/SN here in Rolesville. That band to the west is slowly building/migrating eastward right along the axis of best 850mb frontogenesis and so hopefully as it moves southeastward, most of us will get a nice little snow shower here.

sweet :)

There was a report of a 62 mph wind gust at Concord with the FROPA. Can anyone confirm if this might be legit? It could mean a decent gravity wave event is accompanying this.

It looks like this was answered already...lol

Nice little burst came through, moderate sized flakes blowing from the NE.35.6

No shutout this winter at least.

indeed

35.2 degrees

rain/snow mix for the past 20 minutes

did you change over to snow?

ALL SNOW! Looks so nice in the street light! Huge flakes!

Yay!  ^_^

Snow mixing in here in Concord!

very nice

Getting some flakes that are melting on contact. Nice to see.

I'm jealous  :P

Chalk up a win for the HRRR, it nailed the radar 10 hours out.

I think the HRRR did pretty well, but it did seem to miss the northeastern part of the band where the second max in 850mb frontogenesis setup. Overall though, I agree that it was respectable.

:lmao:

The way that band looks south of Lexington, NC Im jealous of them.

Nothing like a early season tease leave ya itching for more. I hope we all can get a good juicy gulf low that dumps a foot or more.

I'm actually a little jealous myself since we are sort of getting split here in Wake County! You could literally draw the radar reflectivities based off of the two 850mb frontogenesis bulls-eyes though, so there is no surprises about where the heaviest precip has setup.

wow, POURING snow at the track in charlotte...http://instagram.com/p/gogFd-rHa-/

Snowfall's intensity is determined by visibility. When the visibility is over 1 kilometre (0.62 mi), snow is determined to be light. Moderate snow describes snowfall with visibility restrictions between .5 kilometres (0.31 mi) and 1 kilometre (0.62 mi). Heavy snowfall describes conditions when visibility is restricted below .5 kilometres (0.31 mi).

Snow does not pour.  That would be rain if you collected it in a container and then dumped it out.
