Too much wind with sub-50 temps.  Just not very nice to be outside.  Thought I would rake a little after putting up some of the Christmas lights, but gave up on that.

Obviously we are hoping for wintry precip next week but I think this system on Tue/Wed will probably be just a bit too far west for the mid atlantic metros to get in on the action.

 

This season is obviously cooler than usual. I think we will have many more chances for snow through late Feb 2014.

Heck Austin Texas is under a winter storm warning for ice tomorrow night. That usually does not happen until mid January, IF it happens at all most years.

 

This is going to be an excellent winter for DCA, especially after last winter's car topper flurries.

 

I'm going to savor this arctic front tonight and tomorrow. We get to enjoy 20s tonight with wind gusts to 25 mph and dewpoints falling into the upper single digits, then tomorrow we get treated to low - mid 30s with more refreshing breezes!
