Ginx snewx
Geezus Joshs story is unbelievable, next time some doofus on here says they want a Cat 4 in their hood I am going to post those vids. Loving extreme weather and actually wishing it upon your area is not the same. I am just as guilty as everyone in wanting that perfect storm but doses of reality have really changed my outlook. God bless those people.

HoarfrostHubb
You're bringing tears to my eyes. Can't we all just get along?? LOL--you can get excited about the possibility of a couple flakes tonigiht and some cooler air on Tues/Wed. Embarassingly for me--I am having my leaves done today. Yes--I pay to have that done. A very wise thing I learned 3 years ago when I caved in to the idea. What's embarrassing is that he was supposed to come on Thursday when I was hard at work in my office. Due to the rain, he came today. So, instead of working, I'm sipping my coffee while he's outside. Boy, to I feel like a lazy sh*t. 34.4/22, cloudy I did my leaves (mostly) last weekend. My back is barking from that still
CoastalWx
Logan has been blowing away the other stations for + departures for at least the last 4 months. I know they are an urban area, but the normals also account for that. It's almost suspicious to me. September got a little closer to within 0.6 of ORH, but the other 4 months have offered pretty high values.
HIPPYVALLEY
My poor wife just went to the basement for the first time in over a week and saw the size of my hard cider project. She was wondering yesterday what that sweet sulfury smell was in the garage and I just pretended I didn't hear her. lol
Clinch Leatherwood
Going to be a long winter if people are being sent to the americanwx rubber padded penalty box in October and November. Nice "normal" fall with little to talk about or argue over but the Statler and Waldorf in all of us still can't be contained. Beautiful fall and we aren't looking at baking heat or reminiscing about snow that fell to early. Enjoy

The Pit has a connection to both schools. Theophilus Packard, the parson who was the original residen was a trustee of Williams. They had a meeting in our dining room and decided to start a new college in Amherst so the wimpy boys from Boston didn't have to cross the spine. So, they took half of the library from Williams and moved it to a location in Amherst, and thus, Amherst College was born.

powderfreak
It's been noticeable in the last 4 months. Seems like mins driving it. Yeah and I'm pretty sure that's whats done BTV in, too. I bet their daily min departures are like twice as high as the maximum temp departures. They just can't cool off at night. Their maximum departures are usually in line with the other stations like MVL and MPV, as during the day, BTV is usually just 2-4F warmer as normal lapse rates would suggest being 500-800ft lower than those two. But then at night, they are like 10F warmer at times.

Maybe with all the high pressure around and lack of storms, it's just been a situation where we had lots of radiational cooling and the urban spots stick out. I don't know. powderfreak
ORH was +0.0F before today Montpelier was -1.4 before today... BTV was around +1. There's that usual 2F difference in departures. I just can't figure it out. Its almost like there's something off with the climate normals or whatever, but there must just be something going on with the mins or something. In theory, departures are supposed to level the playing ground for different areas... but that doesn't seem to be the case, month after month, when one or two spots have lower departures by 1-2 degrees every single month. It's Always Sunny
LOL, you know Dendrites better than any one on AMWX. I was trying to decipher what he means and have to agree with him in part. There is a tendency to pig pile sometimes. Its all about presentation I suppose, righting a wrong or bad interpretation of meteorology is absolutely fine but degradation never is. I am of the opinion that this is a community not a caste system. The perception for me has been trending towards some Mets and Mods considering themselves elite and degrading others thoughts, that I believe is the jist of its Sunnys post. Thank you. But I think there's always going to be some of that on a board where you mix professionals with hobbyists. Especially where some of the regulars can rib on the professionals or talk about how they do their job. I mean, as a pro met it must get old having someone constantly tell you your snow forecasts are too low or you don't include enough hype, lol. I kind of think the pro met red taggers should be sort of elite...they went through the schooling and training for it. I don't think we are all equal in that way. We should be asking them questions, and I often do along with others. But we can't get all bent out of shape if someone tells a newbie to cool it with the NAM extrapolations. We all started coming here because we knew pro mets were posting and that's a more interesting interaction than some accuweather board with just weenies spewing whatever. It was because of this higher level of discussion that we are here and that level keeps rising. That's why I don't post in, but will read, the main forum. Most of that is out of my skill level so why comment on it? Just read and learn. Some say the fun has left this place, but I haven't seen many red taggers say that...it's mostly all hobbyists. The level of discussion is rising and some like that higher, more technical and professionally reserved discussion. It's what attracts the Red Taggers here in the first place. I think they want to keep increasing their knowledge and keep the discussion more professional, while some others are just fine keeping it how it was and just have a place to shoot the sh*t with friends. I highly disagree with your assertion that we are all here because of the intelligence level,it's more than that but I understand your opinion. Yes it's not as interesting and light hearted as it once was. Rote repetitive discussion is absolutely more interesting with a sense of humor mixed in. This place was intended as a place where commality of passion was shared. Again it is what it is but having a tag gives no special privilege to degrade and that was what It's always Sunny's point was.
CoastalWx
What are you talking about a met pig piling and degrading someone? I see none of that. Of course if you hype a storm up and throw in comments like "ASOUT" because one weenie NA run shows a storm and the storm doesn't happen as some of us said...you are going to get a little ribbing. Point to an example of pig-piling.

Ginx snewx
Just going off what you're saying here but let the kid speak. Most of you take this "oh this post belongs here, this post belongs there" too seriously. Let the power-hungry mods fix that. How is he supposed to know where these posts go? He doesn't live on here like 99% of you. I feel like whenever a new weenie jumps aboard ya'll rip him apart like you own the place. I know I don't post a lot but let's be real here. It's a message board guys, not a sanctuary. To be honest this New England forum is one big CJ. Just tellin' it how it is because nobody else knows how to. This board is great and all as a matter of fact I've picked up more information than I can even tell you through this board but most of you take the fun out of it, for me at least. And for those that want to rip me apart for posting this, go ahead. Enjoy. Bump for Ryan to see what i talking about
