jamesnichols1989
November 9th could be the first day below freezing for Cape Cod, MA since last March. Its been warm the last few days, but that's expected on the warm side of the Great Lakes Cutter tracks. Pattern seems like a go for more of the same, intensifying storms over Quebec, Canada and St. Johns, Canada while cold northwesterly winds bring in a quick arctic high then it leaves 24 hours later. Looks a rinse and repeat pattern for the next several weeks, as long as the negative PNA and positive NAO stay put. With the winter expected to stay in the neutral ENSO phase, this piggy backing, back and forth could bring an above average temp winter, but rather an above average snowfall for New England. I would say given the neutral ENSO state we have a 33% chance for an above normal winter snowfall, a 33% chance for a below normal snowfall and 33% chance for a normal winter snowfall. I was watching the BC/VT game (so disappointed--I'm pulling for VT these days since I'm sending them all my money for my daughter's tuition). CoastalWx
I was watching the BC/VT game (so disappointed--I'm pulling for VT these days since I'm sending them all my money for my daughter's tuition). I was surprised to see how many leaves there were on the trees in the commercial cut-aways. We've been bare for a couple weeks. 53.1/43 In the city it's different but it varies on species Of trees. Most maples, ash etc have been bare.

OceanStWx
Man check out the obs from MSS/Massena in BTV's northern NY zones... 5-6 straight hours now of sustained winds of 35-40mph and gusts of 50-60mph. Almost like a tropical storm moving up the St Lawrence Valley. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?table=1&banner=off&sid=KMSS Probably should have known better, as the best rise/fall couplet tracked right through the valley there. OceanStWx
Looking at the Bufkit sounding for PWM, the NAM brings wet bulbs to 32 tomorrow morning. Saturated through 600 mb with plenty of lift forecast. However, snow growth zone is starting to dry out, so snow growth may be rather poor for anything more than weenie flakes. powderfreak
Snowing at Stowe. Big surprise lol...it's all snow down to 1200ft. Just took a ride up there and it was just awesome having flakes fluttering down and all around. No accumulation at least up to 1500ft yet.
