If the clouds don't thin out or break soon for the Carolinas and Virginia, High temps are going to be quite a bit lower than forecast. This is a very strong surface wedge, and for a dry wedge, pretty impressive. Temps are still stuck in the middle 40's well south, and may only barely hit 50 in places between the upstate of SC to central VA.

It's been overcast all day, but the temps have slowly risen to the mid and upper fifties with some low sixties showing up in the Western Piedmont.

Subtle SE wind upslope event occurring this morning locally near Lake Toxaway. A 25 knot low level jet is hitting the escarpment near the SC/NC line. Very low PW values are keeping this event in check.  Despite a forecast of just trace amounts, it appears some warm rain processes have managed to squeeze out a decent amount of rain.

Maximum of 0.44" has been recorded near Devil's Courthouse in the Balsam mtns at an elevation of 5800 feet.

It's a bit cooler than yesterday morning, temperature hovering around 70 F with light northwest winds along most of the Southeast Florida coastline. Temps are in the mid-upper 60s along the Southwest Florida coast with light winds from the northeast... classic drainage flow pattern which is common on radiational cooling nights when synoptic winds are calm. Basically there's a surface mesoscale high pressure system centered over the Everglades.
