Jim Marusak
Guys and gals in the teaching/grad student side here. A friend of mine, Dave, is a prof over at the Air Force Academy. And he's having to teach dynamics in the Spring semester. here's his quandary. Fellow meteorologists--I need your help!!! I'm teaching Dynamics I next semester and I'm trying to decide between Holton 4th and Holton 5th editions as the textbook. The 5th ed. is very different, and I've not heard a lot of compliments regarding those changes. The 4th ed. is no longer in print but is available used. The Matlab exercises I was planning to use are tied to 5th ed. Thoughts? I'll pass my thoughts along to him and also give him a hotlink to the thread. thanks in advance. ohleary
Without knowing the very different Holton's changes it's hard to say. If your Matlab is tied to 5th, use 5th? Any clues on the changes would help the mets make a decision I'd guess.
