I was under the impression that an inch can start to influence. I've seen that mentioned in afd's more than once. Might also make a difference if the snow is fairly new.

1" is borderline...after that, and especially when you work up towards 2", is when the influence is greater.

Most of the LOT CWA saw less that 1" of snow. So to say any location really saw an influence due to a dusting is unlikely.

Guidance was showing cooler temps than forecasted today anyway...though still a bit too cool.

Temp jumped back up 2 degrees to 20 in the last hour.  Winds over most of Iowa are already stirring, and blowing out of the southwest.  Temps tonight may bust too warm with the high sinking away to the south.  After the initial crash after sunset the temps have pretty much stagnated.

EDIT:  I see the point has already been bumped up 3 degrees to 15.  That may still be too cold.

Only got down to 25 last night downtown, ended up the same as the previous night despite the clearing, a bit surprised. Clouds must've moved in after I went to sleep.

YYZ hit 20 F very briefly, and then started to warm up. They recorded -SN for a few hours but I'm assuming it was very, very --SN; never underestimate the warming effect of cloud cover at night, folks!

As DLL would say hurricane force winds/gusts today. Not far off from 40mph.

Haha - yeah, it's gusty out there.

39° for a high, but still patches of snow left. Had almost an inch thick layer of ice on the pond this morning.

Going to getting those x-mas lights up on Saturday.
