Geos
26°/18° here at 6:15pm. Beginning to clear out. Will be interesting to see how much effect the snow has on the forecasted low of 22° tonight.
Chicago Storm
I've seen about 5 inches of snow since the 26th of October. Climo is going to turn ugly soon as far as >4" snowfalls are concerned. At least until late March. At least there's been something of interest to you finally. Better rack it up before shuts down, for the most part.
Geos
About 22° here now. Got some 3-4" long icicles along the gutters tonight.
Hoosier
MET and MAV have 13 and 14 degrees here tomorrow night. Ouch.
cyclone77
Still a crusty dusting out there from the earlier snow. Cleared out a few hours ago and temps have dropped off slowly but steadily. Down to 22. DVN lowered the point for tomorrow night to 14.
cyclone77
20 now. First night of the season that we dip into the teens. Trees bare, synoptic daytime snowfall, and sub 20 degree temps mean that we move up another notch in the progression towards winter.

daddylonglegs
Dropped to 17F here... I noticed that the bluffs kept snow cover all day yesterday, while down here in the valley it melted off. Round #
Geos
DLL- that looks like a January style cold blast! Low 19° here. Snow isn't going anywhere right now.

Geos
Struggling to get much warmer than 28° here. The scene at 11am here. Edit: I have to figure out what to do with all my leaves. With several wet days in the 7 day and more cold, I might end up composting them.
WestCoaster
Beautiful, Geos! The snow cover will definitely keep your high low for sure. You may be in for a real cold night tonight! Nothing more than the odd frosty puddle here in Toronto Some areas in the LES belts about an hour north of the city have over 6"
harrisale
Low here in Toronto is 24.5, my coldest of the season easily. Tonight expected to get down to 20 Clear skies tonight should help that, overcast last night prevented the temp from dropping too far. Was still chilly though. Excited for tonight, I love a good cold blast. Something about the crispness of the air. Especially early in the season when you arent as used to it. Temps were just cold enough at my place (away from the lake) for about an hour or two of wet snow last night, nothing stuck though except for a few icy patches here and there. Even managed low-end +SN for about 5 minutes. Was in Guelph (about 2C colder on the escarpment) for band practice and they received a good dusting that stuck around. About 1cm maybe. Last night over-performed downtown Impressive output for sure, seems a little aggressive on the cold though. Doubt we will see much below -8C. I'll be up in Guelph again tonight so hopefully will be able to experience some of that nice chilliness.

Agreed - a few runs of the GFS and EURO have been sneaking 500-750 SB Cape into much of Indiana and Ohio. The system will have some potential depending on how things evolve. I'll be up in Guelph again tonight so hopefully will be able to experience some of that nice chilliness. It got down to -5C last night at YYZ, the coldest overnight low of the season thus far. We should surpass that tonight, perhaps hitting around -7 to -10C. Cloud cover prevented it from going any lower, otherwise last night could have easily dropped down to about -7 to -8C. Saw the first snowfall yesterday, around trace in terms of measurement.
daddylonglegs
Stuck at 28F with full sunshine and no snowcover. Pretty impressive cold shot. Geos-Looks very nice. Be interesting if you can hold onto that snow until night fall. Would help keep temps down overnight you'd imagine. Visible showing the snowcover nicely this afternoon. I love these sunny/cold days. http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/data/wisc/ Aberdeen, SD was -1F this morning ...already up to 32F http://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KABR.html
Geos
Yeah I got some still DLL. It's crusty now. Only 31° for the high. Forecast was for 34°, so definitely an influence from the snow. Little bit more snow the west about 10 miles. I thought it would be a unique to find a red tree with snow under it. Was easier said then done. In Antioch.
