Its amazing how much more sun you get over there.... The lakes pretty much keep clouds and snow in the forecast nearly every day to every other day here.

It's pretty much a good thing all the way around for snow lovers, it doesn't get too cold at night with lack of radiational cooling, more frequent snows, and cloud cover keeping the snowpack from disappearing.  Only bad with the frequent warm ups you can get at times with cutters.

That's whats so nice about snowmobiling in Michigan, our snow hangs around longer, sun trashes trails.

Some flurries tonight on going, but nothing more than mood flakes. This is our 7th day with snowflakes so far this season. How brutal would it be to be in, say, Duluth this week? Bitter cold and have not seen more than a dusting of snow yet on the season.

Only good thing about cold and dry: pond hockey

Well the coldest places on earth are technically deserts.

I dont want to jinx it, but the GFS for some time now has been hinting at a light swath of snow on Thanksgiving affecting much of lower MI. It has the classic clipper look but is very meager on qpf. But the just in NAM all of a sudden gives DTW 0.12" qpf. Something to watch.

Yeah, the NAM is showing 3 to 4 inches for my area (my beloved lake enhancement due to SW winds.). :)

We picked up 3 inches from yesterday's event, so it looks like winter!

DTX now calling for an inch or maybe 2 across most of SEMI on turkey day

ROBUST UPPER LEVEL WAVE (AS SEEN ON DYNAMIC TROPOPAUSE) ON TRACK TO
SWING THROUGH CENTRAL/NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN ON THURSDAY. SOLID
ISENTROPIC ASCENT (280K)/GOOD LOW LEVEL FGEN (800-700 MB PER NAM
CROSS SECTION AT 21Z)/MOISTURE ADVECTION (1.75 G/KG OF SPECIFIC
HUMIDITY)...AND FAVORABLE THERMAL PROFILES (850-700 MB TEMPS IN
NEGATIVE MID TEENS) SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO GENERATE
SNOW...ESPECIALLY WITH LAKE MICHIGAN CONTRIBUTION FACTORED IN...AND
DO THINK AROUND 1 INCH OF ACCUMULATION WILL BE COMMON ACROSS MUCH OF
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN. HIGH SNOW TO LIQUID RATIOS POTENTIALLY SQUEEZING
OUT EVEN 2 INCHES IN A FEW SPOTS...MOST LIKELY I-69 CORRIDOR WHERE
FORCING LOOKS TO BE PERSISTING THE LONGEST.

Very cold temps aloft, should definitely help with accumulation even with minimal QPF (as mentioned). ON should get in on a bit of the action as well.

High temps at YYZ shouldn't get above freezing until Saturday so it looks like we will have snow cover for a few days before it gets burned off over the weekend.

I'm very thankful for the light waves of snow this week, whether it be WAA like Monday and tonight's potential snow, or clippers.  I can only imagine how boring and uncomfortable it would be for snow weenies in Duluth or Fargo, assuming they have bare ground.

Another frigid November day. Hoping for some nice Thanksgiving snow tomorrow!

A light coating as of this AM. Nice to see the dull of brown tinted by the beauty of white. One thing comes to mind this AM is the duration of the cold this month. Just a few super warm days during the tornado outbreak, returning to winter as of late.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and has fun with their families. Here in the north its just a regular work day with lots of great deals at the shopping centres.

Nice Thanksgiving morning with a steady sugar snow falling! Looks cool watching Detroits Thankgiving parade coverage with a snowglobe outside.

I'm getting used to it now. Upper 20s no big deal, haha.

Reached 27° here today.

Same haha. I'm still getting out almost everyday for a bike ride or a least an evening stroll to acclimate and build up my cold tolerance.

Happy Thanksgiving to our friends south of the border. You guys get a parade?!
