andyhb
This has been all over the UK's news over the past few days, an impressively deep SLP of possibly less than 970 mb looks to make landfall in Central/Southern England and bring winds in excess of hurricane force potentially across London and other heavily populated areas in the southern part of the country. Comparisons have been made to the Great Storm of 1987. One thing that will be interesting to see is if a sting jet can become established with this low, which was one of the main things that made the 1987 storm so destructive. 12z Euro valid 72 hrs. Sfc analysis from the Great Storm of 1987.
Sunny and Warm
Wasn't this low related to the typhoon that was near Japan about 10 days ago?
