Baroclinic Zone
Looks like this run is bringing Boston nearly a foot of snow and Cape Cod around 18 inches. Wow. Looks like the 1" contour kisses the Harbor so it may be around a foot since obs are at Logan.
Baroclinic Zone
I'll say it right now. I'm not buying it. Not getting sucked in. [cweat]Cut QPF in half! Cut QPF in half!!![/cweat] Indeed.
moneypitmike
lol ... even God's Country gets in the act at 72h. Hunchback's ears are perking as we speak. Congrats, Bethel!
MaineJayhawk
NAM was passing the bottle with Pickles last night. I'd love for that to verify, of course, but it has no support. I would dearly love something in the 12z suite (preferably the Doc) to say, "you know, that NAM is right. Let's drop a QPF nuclear device on New England". I just don't see that happening. But it would be totally awesome if it scores the coup.

HoarfrostHubb
Well, we are taking 300 8th graders to see a play that is already paid for on Wednesday morning... A couple of years ago, the ice storm cancelled the same thing and we never got the money totally squared away. This would be a hoot!

mostman
Can someone explain this sort of setup to me? I'm a lurker and a casting novice. If the NAM verified - would this setup be unusual? What recent storms have done this?

leesun
Looks like a classic inv trof set up. The GGEM has hinted at this possibility on previous runs. NAM looks way overdone, as usual. The ETA solutions look more realistic. But, the NAM set up has happened before! 09z SREF not as ridiculous as the NAM, but it does bring several inches to eastern areas:

ORH_wxman
I like how even the sref's bring 1-3 to eastern CT I was surprised how good the 00z Euro was for this midweek threat. It had borderline warning criteria for eastern areas and advisory back to the valley at least. Hopefully the trend continues. I'm still skeptical on anything more than an inch or two until we get closer, but at least we can probably set ourselves up for a white christmas. MaineJayhawk
I like how even the sref's bring 1-3 to eastern CT Eta5, again, steps on New England's throat and applies the kill shot.
mattlacroix4
12Z GFS loading up, that will give me a lot more confidence if it even shows half of what the NAM does, or the "general" idea of it.
