nutmegfriar
As we thought accumulating snow for ALL of SNE Man, I hope you're right but I'm doubting it down here.
Damage In Tolland
Even the most robust solutions are showing barely measurable (if at all) in the SW third (or even half) of SNE. I'd proceed with caution the further SW you get. Euro's got 1-2 inches back to me and Will
CoastalWx
Euro's got 1-2 inches back to me and Will Well maybe more like 1" but it looked better than 00z.
Damage In Tolland
Took some photos at different points today, I'm betting 30-40% meltage today. I'm worried you and I get no accumulating snow. As long as the Euro has it..bank on it..I'm not worried ..with the thing scooting south of us
DomNH
Well very weak sun won't melt too much, but for those that got an inch of fluff..it's probably gone. Yeah, yards with sun are mostly bare here, but my side of the street as hardly melted.
Clinch Leatherwood
As long as the Euro has it..bank on it..I'm not worried ..with the thing scooting south of us It could really work out for many of us. Hey I look at it this way, last we had almost nothing to look at....three times in a week we have stuff to watch. Cool!
ORH_wxman
Well maybe more like 1" but it looked better than 00z. Euro isnt very excited for south of the pike once you are at this longitude. It looks decent for N ORH county though.
Damage In Tolland
Well maybe more like 1" but it looked better than 00z. I'll be perfectly happy with an inch..and think maybe 2 could happen
Clinch Leatherwood
snowing like a bastage just off the beach. Nice band setup. I think we could see some wild banding Wed night/thursday. Heck there's even a chance of banding redeveloping tonight. Cool setup. NAM looks way better to me on the big dog. Tucking that northern piece of energy a bit further WNW....whole trough looks better
DomNH
Well maybe more like 1" but it looked better than 00z. Yeah, not even .1'' of QPF for him so an inch is probably his ceiling on the Euro. 1-3'' N and NE of the Pike. Having Euro QPF maps is awesome. powderfreak
Euro's got 1-2 inches back to me and Will Ahh I don't have access to the EURO QPF, but the NAM and GFS have 1-2" back to Will, not sure about your area though... there will definitely be a NE to SW gradient. I bet you pull an inch or so before it completely dries out down in the valley. You're elevation may save you here from drying air on a NE flow. Having Euro QPF maps is awesome. trace to 1" seems like the way to go for Kev, RI, probably over to me and the sw 1/2 of the Cape. 1-3" north of there with maybe a bullseye around Cape Anne/SE NH/SW Maine of 2-4/3-6 but it could just miss. Ptown 2-4 and the lower cape if its cold enough. This if from here on out.... (there's a 2-5 hour window from this point on where we could get accumulations in EMA)
mattlacroix4
I think you guys are going to get a nice snowfall out of this... easily plowable in my mind. I'd say its a "surprise" snowfall but everyone on this board has been all over it for days. It might be a surprise to some of the general public though judging by some of the NWS forecasts out there right now. Thank you, well said. powderfreak
By the looks of the NAM, you may get 6-12 inches of snow by Friday. You can tell the NWS is puzzled or the gears are turning hard because its 4:20pm and BTV has issued no zones or AFD yet. Probably not exactly sure what to make of all this... verbatim QPF off the GFS is advisory level snows and the NAM is warning level snows for a lot of northern and northeastern VT, a lot of NH and ME. powderfreak
40 dbz echoes over nws gyx right now. RAIN. 37F. Keep that in mind. That's brutal. Intellicast radar showing it as snow now over GYX... but we know how off these winter radar products can be. Usually though intellicast is pretty darn good. I also didn't realize how much it torched today down on the coastal plain... lots of upper 30s and even low 40s down in the lower elevations near the coast. I feel bad for these guys, this is a bear of a forecast. Absolutely nasty forecast to make and as our local office said prone to busting. The little s/w has surprised out in MN delivering some good snows. The RUC hasn't abated from the continued ramping up each run of that feature.
