Whoops...didn't mean to post this in the pinned thread so i moved it here.

This is so awesome!!!

A few days ago, a friend of mine who went to Lyndon State when I was there and is now a meteorologist out in OK sent me a message on facebook.  He is friends with the founder of Geoenvironmental Atmosphere.  He was looking someone to fill in a position of forecasting for CT/MA/RI area...updating the facebook page, along with contributing to the main website composing forecasts.  They are also branching out in the private sector as well.  Anyways, my friend referred to me and after sending him some information about myself, my goals when it comes to forecasting, and showing him my blog and my past write-ups he was quite impressed and I'm now part of the team!  This isn't a paid position right now but with the branching out in the private sector, it may very well start generating my some money, perhaps by the winter.  I just spoke with him on the phone today and just getting setup and all but this is an incredible, incredible opportunity!

Congrats man.  My first wx gig was unpaid too, but down the road the value far exceeded any cash I might have had in the meantime.   Most of us here who have read your stuff for years I'm sure have no doubt you'll do well.

Meh, it'll be really interesting if we can get it down inside 100 hours. At least I'm actually looking forward to the ensembles right when they come out in a little while.

oh yeah i know...i meant just killing him to have a snow "threat" and not be able to post "AWT" or "AMOUT" or "we said that this had to be watched"

Thanks!  Even if this turns out to be unpaid, I really wouldn't care.  Obviously it would be great to make some money but this is a great resume builder for the future.  The experience I will gain along with improving my skills makes it completely worth it.  My first task, besides rebuilding up the facebook page which I'll operate, is submitting a tough draft of my thoughts for the upcoming winter within the next two weeks :D

Lol yes...well the latter one is sort of true. This time period has been mentioned several times in the past 3-4 days for potential if we could get lucky with a well timed shortwave/energy...the Euro/Ukie show how it might be possible.

yeah. i'm happy just to see the cold coming down.

a coastal would just be "icing on the cake". no solid reason to say the euro's on crack though which is nice. just needs to be a potent shortwave that can manage to fight off the fast flow.
