It's hard to predict for these areas...all it takes is one lake effect event to make a huge difference. Every winter I've lived in Muskegon, we've had a lake convergence band form over us at some point and drop over a foot of snow in a very short time. All it takes is not getting one of those, or getting several, to make a huge difference in a winter's total. The fun of living in the great lakes!
