Ian
the models were right with the storm producing random-like "blobs" of rain, but they differed/struggled every run with exactly where those "blobs" would be, and will likely continue to do so Looks like it will be a little less widespread at least on the edges than many model forecasts but living on the edge is always tough. Pretty much every model had at least 2" of rain for DC thru Fri as of yesterday which appears it will verify pretty well... unless it keeps raining a lot. WVclimo
First rain from this system has finally arrived here. Had sprinkles overnight, but not enough to wet the ground.
mattie g
1.90" and still raining. Definitely scored with the morning blob. Had less than a half inch by 7am. I'm curious to see what I've got in my gauge when I get home. And I like how everyone is calling this batch a "blob."

mitchnick
12z nam hammers the northern areas tonight/tomorrow, so maybe too soon to judge nam_total_precip_se_20 (1).png yeah, that blob backs into us from the NNE if the NAM is off with the placement of it (as in too far north), there will be flooding issues I would think otoh, it could be gone on the next run knowing the NAM

Ian
Oh good, I was feeling a little left out All the hi res models seem to indicate more batches swinging through. Maybe not as big, but def seems to be a focus north from the first one a bit. Maybe DC north but more focus on n md.
mitchnick
Oh good, I was feeling a little left out BWI has done OK so far, I would think you're at least 3/4", if not more, but I haven't been paying to much attention to the returns up your way http://www.nws.noaa.gov/data/obhistory/KBWI.html here are storm totals per radar which are close enough to being right usually http://www.marylandwx.com/radar/klwxstate_str.php

EastCoast NPZ
I had 0.08 at 7 am, looks like another 0.02 or 0.03 in there now....can't believe I've had more than you by looking at last 24 hours radar loops. Well, I am up to .12" now. The radar is misleading; most of the time, the precip has barely been a light drizzle. We had a period of light rain for a time. Maybe the blob looking to hit us soon will be heavier.

Radar shows yellow and even a little orange overhead, but the actual precip is very garden-variety rain. Up to .19" now. KOKV up to .23".
