DJnVa
Seems like the cold is taking a little while to filter down. It's encouraging though that the precip is taking its time. Yeah...looks like no precip down here until noonish. Temp has dropped a few degrees in last hour.

DJnVa
More like in an hour or so. Yeah---okay, I'm trusting you on this. Jeremy Wheeler at WAVY was saying midday.
Shadowzone
A little less than 1/2 inch of sleet, now mixing with snow at Providence Forge (17 miles east of RIC) All snow now - dumping - maybe 1/4-mile visibility. Wonderful to have a storm in day hours - the first three significant events this winter have been primarily at night.
eaglesin2011
Ugh why does the dry slot always seem to find us...looks like its incoming for us in about 1/2 hour...just when it got going haha.. Hopefully it fills back in...This thing is really moving quick....
Portsmouth Weather
Watching the latest trends, I'm getting very encouraged that we will over-perform in HR. Precip is transitioning quickly to snow, and system appears further south than progged. Latest NAM give us anywhere from .6 to .7 QPF and RAP looks good. We may see 4 -5 inches down here if most falls as snow.
Portsmouth Weather
Yeah---okay, I'm trusting you on this. Jeremy Wheeler at WAVY was saying midday. It appears to be moving in quick. I would say like an hour or less.
crainjd
Well AKQ has moved the 2-4" range into NC (it used to stop in Southern VB). The 40% chance of 4"+ has moved to the HRBT, where it used to be further up the Peninsula, so trend is definitely a little south.

DJnVa
Pretty sure the snow changeover wouldn't be until afternoon.
starrin
Slight mist, not discernible to the eye, but rain detector (bald head) detected it about 1030. During visit to local store 1045 observed tiny tiny snow pellets - but light enough to drift down - not falling. Surfaces wet, but not freezing. Temp has just reached 32, but cold surfaces not freezing, though water is collecting. starrin Great Neck, Virginia Beach
VABILLUPS1
Boy this thing is hauling. Looks like everybody in VA will be done by 5-6p. It better thump if we're getting to 2"-4".
SoCoWx
Still sleet. Must be really warm aloft or something. And I agree, as quick as the storm is moving, that changeover better get going.
CentralVaGirl
Seems to be about done in western Henrico for now. Looks like about 2", maybe a bit more. I hear the roads are nasty, haven't had to try it myself

Shadowzone
All snow now - dumping - maybe 1/4-mile visibility. Wonderful to have a storm in day hours - the first three significant events this winter have been primarily at night. A solid 2 to 3 inches of snow in less than 3 hours since the change over. Just had a great walk with Shadow to an "unleashed" territory. Very steady wind - probably 15 mph from the due north - gave me a winter storm facial. SoCoWx
Had started snowing here, then changed back to all sleet. Now were in the dry slot with an ice pellet here and there. This is frustrating.
SeVa
Definitely busting down here. 0 snow. A bit of sleet and the moisture is basically shut off.
