VBsurf
Surprised none of the local mets are talking more about the temps friday AM. Seems like we could potentially have a hard freeze right around rush hour. GFS has temps at 9z of 35 and 12z of 24 (and still dropping)! You would think any left over moisture from rain would freeze quickly. Would be great to get a snow shower or 2 around that time as well.
Coach McGuirk
Hampton Roads could get an inch or more on the wrap around, maybe.
Portsmouth Weather
NAM has been trending heavier with precip after changeover in Hampton Roads. Looks like over a quarter inch of qpf now!!
D-Money
How does the new nam look for hampton roads? I'm mobile so can't get the details. But looks like Pecip is wrapping around much better.

I think everything will probably be dry by then but could we see some bay effect with the north winds behind the low?

I think black ice could cause some problems although the strong winds will help to quickly dry things up. Most models have precip ending right around rush hour

Portsmouth Weather
NAM continues the trend of more precip after the changeover. We may squeeze out an inch or two. Rush hour traffic may be horrendous Fri am!

Inudaw
Been a wet time here in Richmond the last few weeks. ^^; Not sure if we'll get much if anything besides visible flakes at the end of this.
Coach McGuirk
RPM I'll take it. If we can get an inch, I'll be pleased.

D-Money
0z gfs clown map has over an 1/2" for most of HR but is over done on its coverage. Pecip just looks to be flying out of here and probably will be done soon. Not sure if it will throw back for us later..
VABILLUPS1
0z NAM has 19 degrees at ORF - 10am tomorrow. Man, if anything is still on the roads by sunrise it will be a mess.
Coach McGuirk
We should still get some rain/snow bands into the early morning.

Inudaw
The cold air IS still (and after the week or so of moderation) going to be centered on this side of the pole. Be pretty sad if we get a whole winter that favors cold for this hemisphere for once and not get climo snow for Richmond and AKQ area. Though it would not come as a surprise. Coach McGuirk
It's January 11 and I'm under a tornado watch. So much for winters down here.
wxmeddler
Don't know why AKQ hasn't issued a radar indicated tor warn for that cell approaching AKQ yet. Edit: There it is.
SoCoWx
Yeah, thus far this winter has been comparable to two of the least snowiest winters in recent history in Hampton Roads...06//07 and 11/12. It's literally been rain, rain, and more rain. Kinda sad that the only snowfall in HR happened in November..
