Martin
I haven't seen a new topic since last winter so now seemed like an appropriate time to start a new one. This coastal low looks pretty interesting if it hangs around as long as some of the models are suggesting.

Shadowzone
First morning of the season where I have to monitor conditions for school operations. I don't think the temperature will drop enough tonight in metro Richmond - can almost feel the milder Gulf air with the incoming moisture.

JB Fins
Now that I moved to Goochland, I am under my second WWA of the season. Hoping we get a small SE shift so all of Central VA can sneak out a 1-3"
JB Fins
Did I say 1-3"? I meant .01 to .03" DC and area not doing so hot as rates did not materialize, still two threats by December 10, not a bad start.

JB Fins
Yep, just saw the sun coming out. So, swing and a miss but I was only holding out hope for 1" as late as this morning. I like having things to track but this weekend does not look favorable either. I know climo is against DEC snow in RIC but hoping for an 09-10 redux. mikeeng92
I remember reading here that RIC has not recorded over 14" from 1 storm since 1983, is that correct?
JB Fins
RIC_WX (Anthony) is our Richmond historian so he would know for sure but I think this is correct. One would think one of the larger events, like 1996, would have exceeded 14". I believe the airport recorded 11". I was living in Henrico off Gaskins Road and recorded 16". Folks just to the north and west recorded 19". I know where the airport was measuring was a point of contention and a windmill that RIC_WX was fighting to change.
