Damage In Tolland

I have yet to see a day with a line approaching from the west with screaming south winds deliver anything interesting east of hartford. I always talk myself into thinking the line will survive, never does. One of these days I'll realize it wont lol

We've had plenty of lines with damaging winds actually. Jan 2006 probably was the most epic one of all.

Talking specifically south winds in the warmer season. Always brings that taint in and kills off instability and breeds cinh.

Not a wind event with screaming winds. Purely convection related gusts. It was definitely windy yesterday pre line. That's for sure. Our kicker hit 60 yarder in practice with the wind lol

Yesterday performed as most here thought. Winds gusting to 50 mph with scattered wind damage to the coast and a fine line of storms. Those that called for a non event were incorrect

Not sure if that was aimed towards me but on my own terms, an "event" doesn't include a wind storm, which is what most got. Oh, and a lot of disappointment too for those that believed the hype.

We might have some pretty educated people in here in terms of weather, but when it comes to convection we have some real duds.  This is the storm report map from yesterday and it matches up quite well with all the forecasts.  If you have a problem understanding a simple concept that Western MA/CT is where the highest threat was located well that's your issue.  Everything went completely planned as thought.  If you happened to think differently, again, you're fault.

Every time it's the same garbage...so and so doesn't get anything impressive and the event becomes a dud...blah blah blah blah.  There is a reason as to why convection is referred to as on the small scale.  If you want to talk about it as being a dud to you personally, fine, but don't bring that incorrect info and relate it to the event overall.

Why after a bunch of eastern Mass guys say it was a non-event, you go and make some absolute statement like this with 50mph and scattered damage straight to the coast?

Can't you just say this worked out as progged in western areas instead of try to troll for responses from the coastal MA guys?

Strong winds were never ruled out. But those who anticipated t-storms and tornadoes got nipped. Not saying everyone on here anticipated that, but just telling it how it is.

Seems to be a very fair statement.  Not sure how many lightning strikes there were and tornadoes never really seemed to materialized instead of a few marginal couplets.

There were actually zero wind damage reports on the coast of New England.  The closest reports were in the NYC metro and extreme western LI.   And I doubt anyone gusted to 50 MPH outside of far western MA...and he wonders why his posts get deleted....

Did you even bother looking at the BOX damage reports before making this ridiculous post? There was damage right to the coast in E Ma

Another person without a clue. I guess you missed the gust to 55 at MQE and the gust to 56 in Concord

I expected "strong" winds with the FROPA. I got diddly squat. At least 40mph would have been nice. 30mph is run of the mill and it preceded the FROPA by a solid 8hrs. That's lol-tastic.

There appears to be some confusion. The line can blow in my backyard and rock in yours. It was a gusty shower here. West gets something 19 out of 20 times and we get diddley. I could careless about gusts out west we live in two different geographical regions.

CON is a coastal community?

I'll give ya MQE maybe but that's like using a 600-700ft tall tower to verify wind reports.

It's ok Blizz...not every call will be correct. You're still batting 0.996 this season.

There wasn't **** in Eastern Mass

From a Severe stand-point, it went as I expected.  I did not expect any severe t-storms, although I did expect rain with the FROPA(that did no pan out)  Severe and southerly winds do not make a severe t-storm day in E MA.  Winds were a separate issue imo and that was a dud imo.

Time to look fwd to the next threat.
