wxeyeNH
I do not know of any stadium effect eyewall pictures ever taken from the ground. I have told Josh many times that would be a million dollar shot. Wow, to be in a daytime eye and get pictures of the one of the strongest (or strongest) storms ever to hit the planet is just an epic feat! I know I am nervous for him but for a life long chaser he may achieve the ultimate feat. I am wishing him luck, what an adventure he will have the next few hours. He may never want to chase Cat's 1 and 2's again. Good luck Josh! Does anyone know the exact location in Talcoban City he is in?

apm
By the looks of the latest radar loop it does look like they'll catch at least a piece of the eye. With that said, any little wobble could change things. Inside the eye wall? Don't see it.

DopplerWx
latest update from josh. iCyclone5:31pm (3 minutes ago) 6:30 am. Gusts getting violent-- flying tin and branches. Some gusts have an unearthly, feminine howl that gives me the creeps. 974.6 mb and falling. Might be my last update.
DopplerWx
i think they will make it in the eyewall.
wxeyeNH
If it is tracking due west looks to me he will miss the eye by about 5-10 miles but be in fierce east winds in the eyewall.
apm
Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the twitter feeds from the boys have also gone silent.
apm
They're up at the top of that notch, it would have to jog north for that to happen. But what a picture; don't see too many land falling storms look like that. i think they will make it in the eyewall.

PSUBlizzicane2007
This is going to be a situation where every slight wobble of the center could determine whether Josh gets the eye or not.

Yeah I'd say >95% odds they have the N eyewall in the bag...eye is the bigger question...
Drz1111
I think this must be the strongest landfalling storm on record; hopefully Guiuan got the data to support that.
wxeyeNH
Its going to be so close to whether they actually clear out just briefly and get into that northern fringe of the eye. As a photographer the pictures would be so amazing looking south across the eye to the other eyewall. A few miles are going to make the difference now. dan11295
Either way, Tacloban itself is going to take a major beating.

lsukev
Isn't it true that one could assume the forward speed of the storm can be added (to the northern eyewall in this case) to the sustained winds?
