Tornado Girl
I was browsing the NOAA sites for products today and ended up running up against the shut down page.... I was wondering who is being effected... particularly from our members whose jobs are being affected by the shutdown.... how they are working around the problem. Please limit conversation to effects, and not the causes (politics). I also posted this in the NYS and PA forum....
eyewall
Yes it is for my job. We use information from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and they are not in full operation due to shutdown right now.

It's Always Sunny
Forecast soundings from ESRL/GSD page is shut down. I relied on those to help put together TAFS but I found other alternatives. Was definitely an inconvenience though.

HalloweenGale
I look at historical weather information. Kind of hard to do so when you get a "Due to the government shutdown, the website is not being updated. See www.weather.gov" I hope the UCC page is still up. weatherwiz
I just saw this on facebook and not sure if it's posted on this site but this is crazy. Read the first letter of each line in the Analysis and Upper Levels portion of the discussion. They spell Please Pay Us http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=AFC&product=AFD&format=CI&version=3&glossary=
OceanStWx
I just saw this on facebook and not sure if it's posted on this site but this is crazy. They spell Please Pay Us http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=AFC&product=AFD&format=CI&version=3&glossary=1 Meh, I thought the PDX FWF discussion section reading "All Work No Pay" was more clever. Obviously that product is more obscure that it wouldn't go viral like the AFD did.
