DaculaWeather
A question that came up on another forum about dew versus rain. How does the NWS (or meteorologists) view dew in terms of rainfall measurements? If a PWS tipping bucket records dew (or collected in a gauge), is that measurement discarded in terms of rainfall? I understand it's NOT rainfall, but just wasn't sure the "official" stance on that. Thanks in advance!
isohume
Yes, it's considered a false tip and taken out of the climate record.
DaculaWeather
Thanks for the response! I was thinking that was what it was but I just wanted to have an expert tell me! Thanks again!
