80 swampy degrees here -3rd day in the 80's this week.  went a whole week in August w/o an 80 degree reading...

The front is on the move though... you can see it charging south on OKX.

KHVN just spiked to 80 but KMMK is dropping.

some pretty good temp busts...OKX had me near 70  today and NYC certainly was not progged to be near 90.  Dry ground FTW as far as blasting the WF through....

that and it was supposed to be more cloudy. i think it's mainly the super dry ground

We're losing a lot of leaves already and some of it seems to be related to the dry conditions.  However, we are also losing a lot of oak leaves already and it seems as though the squirrels are gnawing off the ends of a lot of branches.  Never seen this before.  Some are coming down with acorns attached, but must are not.  And oddly, a lot of the branches have unopened buds that seemed to have popped out.  Not quite sure what to make of it, but it means lots of yard work tomorrow.

That's not way early. About right.

It's usually around the 18-20th. I mean even the oaks are changed..Some yrs it can be lots of green still.

That sounds late for your elevation. Those dates are typical for the coast here Boston to the Cape.

I would say about a week to 10 days early here. Stunning color

That seems about right...a week early for interior SNE. We are just slightly early but maybe by only a couple days based on comparing my pics over the years.

But we are past peak now. Going to look like November after the rain on Sun/Mon.
