Wow Posted October 20, 2013 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Sure wish I had my weather station setup. Should be delivered next week. Got the Davis Vantage pro2 w/ the fan asperator. Going to throw it up on the roof. Then setup an SQL database to send data to and build a killer archive access application. It was in the the 40's this morning I'd figure based on the amount of time it took me to get the courage to get out of bed. Currently 56 with clear skys calm winds and dps in mid 30s. If there was some slightly dryer air then the first light freeze would be possible. Interesting though some places dps ranging 32-37 so I'd say it wouldn't be entirely impossible for some places around the RDU area to be as low as 34. downeastnc Posted October 21, 2013 Share Posted October 21, 2013 PGV got to 37 last night which was well below forecast but not surprising since the location is one of those areas that seems to radiate out better than others. Its on the low side of the river on sandy soil and always goes lower than the surrounding areas. Here in town it got to 39 which is the first below 40 reading of the season. There's always those low-lying protected locations that can drop lower when we get the clear calm weather. Sanford and Rocky Mount have always done well. But its not too far from the Homestead Steakhouse and GKN. On the left hand side(westside) of 501. Literally right near the sign that says Homestead next left. Hard to see it bc of the trees that line 501. My sister lives on Antioch church rd. which is the road that runs into 501, I believe. Right at the big movie/ bowling complex. They are currently running Clarksville . I have been up there three or four times a year for atleast 10+ years. I like it up there, and jealous of all the winter wx they always get, compared to me!
