Just saw my first winter precip of the new season about 10:45 today.  A very heavy shower of sleet and sneet, didn't look like any rain mixed in either.  I was watching a dark cloud bank advance while in the Target lot.  At first I thought it would pass dry but noticed a very dark base in the background. Next thing I know it just pours ice and snice for almost 10 minutes.  The ice was pinging off the car and roadways briefly covering them for a time....car temp dropped to 43 from 45 during it.  It was way cool to see.

Hope some is left later this afternoon.  I'll be over there later.

Should be, still snowing lightly.

The town itself only got about 3.5". The ridges did much better on this borderline temp event, especially with the snow that fell yesterday during the day.

Almost no snow left on the ground here in Oakland today.

I reiterate my disdain for wind. Without it today is fairly nice.

I share it.  One of the (many) things I hated about weather in Texas was the wind NEVER STOPPED BLOWING.  Open your car door...wind pushes it back into your leg.  Try to talk outside...have to speak louder to be heard over the wind.  Go for a run...one half of the run is going to suck because it's into the wind.  DIE wind DIE.

KOKV reporting 48F, but it's nowhere near that warm currently in Middletown.  Cloud banks are rolling in over the mountains and it is windy and cold.  Nearest WxBug station shows 42F, and I can see there are snow showers against the western ridges.  Probably won't make it to the ground as they head east, but sure feels like I could see a snow shower here.
