wxdude64
It snows in October? I remember the 10-10-10 storm. 10 inches fell here on 10-10-79. I think that was the year Baltimore and Pittsburgh played in World Series too? Many, many, many trees damaged and pulled down from weight of wet snow and leaves still on trees. Bonus was firewood readily available for next couple of years. BTW, it is in my forecast too for Thursday night Disc.
snowfan
Justin Berk put out that forecast. Speaking of JB2, he's talking winter outlook on his facebook page and 'faith in the flakes' is most definitely included in his post.

EastCoast NPZ
much cooler this evening than forecast. skies cleared around 4 pm and the air cooled quickly. forecast low tonight of 38F with cloudy skies, and it's already 37F and not a cloud in the sky. We may hit freezing tonight, much less Friday night.

mitchnick
looks like computers have the next 2 typhoons recurving so even if the trough leaves the east coast it "should" come back
EastCoast NPZ
Some clouds did arrive overnight and kept us from bottoming out below freezing, but currently sitting at 33.8F with frost again. So close....
WxUSAF
looks like computers have the next 2 typhoons recurving so even if the trough leaves the east coast it "should" come back Pretty clear indications that we'll warm up to at least seasonal after Halloween and then likely above normal by November 3-5th. As long as it's snowing like crazy in Canada and Siberia, I can deal with it.

mattie g
10-29-11? You forgot that one? Sloppy mulch-top dusting after something like 0.75" of rain. Doesn't count.

jonjon
Close to an inch of snow on the grass and cartops here in Oakland, MD. It had just started snowing in Davis when I left for work at 8:30.
Bob Chill
GFS has been advertising a fairly decent cutoff 4 corners low next week. We could be in for some aoa days to close out the month as heights rise in the east. After that looks really nice and seasonal with strong high pressure anchored to the north of us. Overall, looks like a totally normal pattern late month through early Nov.
snowfan
It's a shame peak color at in the far western areas has since passed. The snow with colors would have made for some really nice pics. This is Rte 50 at Table Rock, so not that far from Oakland/Davis/etc. http://www.chart.state.md.us/video/video.php?feed=be00a3fe007d00d30050fa36c4235c0a
