wxdude64
Made it down to 30.8 on my WS, area temps. are all at or just below freezing, first of the year, pretty heavy frost too. Currently it is 31.1 with fog. Up high in low 40's, that SW wind kept ridges warmer, but I guess we were able to decouple down lower.
EastCoast NPZ
Heavy frost on elevated surfaces this morning, though didn't really see much on the ground. Windshields required a lot of scraping, roofs were noticeably white, and saw a thick coat on hay-bales on a farm beside Rt 11 coming to work. Overnight low of 35F. Wonderful day of weather yesterday and this AM.
WxUSAF
Nice pics, Dave! Didn't see any frost in Columbia (but it was dark), but there was some patchy frost in lower spots on the road into Goddard.
mattie g
38.5 on the local PWS. Belvoir actually got lower than that (37). Coldest of the fall so far by about 4o. I still have a ton of tomatoes on the vine, so I'm glad that we didn't frost up. Hope to get at least to the weekend without a frost so I can get some red on the fruits out there now. Otherwise, I'll have to try to ripen green tomatoes inside, which I'd really rather not do.

RodneyS
Today's minimum of 46 at DCA was the first time this month that the minimum there was below the 1981-2010 normal.
WinterWxLuvr
Looks like the GFS has backed off considerably from the cold next week that it was forecasting earlier. Not unexpected as that was a pretty long range forecast to begin with.

Bob Chill
The vort passing on tue-wed would be snow in December. Maybe even late Nov. This is one of the ways we can nickle and dime this winter. It's nice to see this h5 pattern regardless of it being rain.

Ian
NWS is being pretty bullish with lows at least in the city compared to MOS. MOS may be a tad high but near freezing seems it could be tough here.

I drove home from western PA, on I-68, last night - and noticed there appeared to be a fairly significant inversion layer. Temps went up as I climbed the ridges and dropped in the valleys, all the way through Garrett, Allegany, Washington and Frederick counties. Also obvious suppression of smoke from a few chimneys in a few places.
