Would the strengthening southerly jet have anything to do with that?

could be tho i wonder if there's a little sfc low near that kink east of CHO.  

 

impressive for the time of year. the trough is solid. winds are not really very backed ahead of the line.

Which is probably keeping the tor chances negligible... wish we had some more instability, would have had a fun day if we did

the radar looks benign over me but it is now thundering very loudly.

more lightning showing up lately, pretty much all behind the line in that stratiform rain. positive strikes maybe.

1.16 so far....NAM looks juicy for later this week as well

 

 

Looks like the 12z NAM is on board with the late Wednesday/early Thursday drenching.

yeah, if I was in NE I would see this and start to get real antsy for the upcoming season with a block that strong in that location  :whistle:

Wunderground is a little funky but it has a lot of qpf in the MA, including us (1"-3")

up to like 5" in the area.. several waves thru the beginning of next week. moisture just keeps spitting in from the southeast.
