I really don't think we have much of a chance for any flakes sadly. Mixed precip at best possible for areas outskirts north of the GTA, though.

Freeze is possible, but I'm hesitant. Overnight lows have really struggled to hit forecasts, and if they do, it has been for a very short-lived period... we would need temps at or below freezing for at least a few hours.

Overnight lows have on some days been getting lower than expected. Having negative dewpoints is good as it can aide in dropping SFC temps when precip falls. At best a mix is possible between now and Friday and possibly again next week around Halloween but yeah the ground is still warm. We need SFC temps to hit freezing to cool it down. I do see a warming and I have been saying that around Nov 2-5 as the AO and NAO rise. Its going to be a battle between the pacific and Atlantic and we may see a cutter or two mixed in depending how the MJO behaves. Canada looks to stay cold which should build the snow cover and depth up north (good for winter).

Had some sleet in a convective shower on Saturday, so i guess technically thats the first winter precip of the year.

A cold, crisp Fall day today...perfect! First official freeze at DTW (31F), they were actually on the colder side of lows in SE MI today, which surprised me. Got down to 34F in Wyandotte.

The cold was curling around the low and the direction of the winds were giving areas to the south a better shot at unmoderated cold.

Gonna go with 1.0" of snow for the day here.  Pretty sure we had more, but since I wasn't here to measure before it started to melt I'm just gonna go with an even inch.  DVN just came in with a 2.5" total.  Where I work in Joslin (just northeast of QC) had around 2".

Haha, how long did you have to wait to get an inch the last two years!?

Already frosty here, 33°.

Had 0.3" last year on Nov 11, but didn't break the 1" threshold till Dec 20 at 3.2".

Temps have been steady at 35 since mid-afternoon.  Clouds holding fast.  Most of the snow has melted, even in the grass.

Very odd weather out today. Woke up to a low of 37F, dreary morning, lots of cloud and some light showers.

Currently 46F, mix of sun and cloud. Some surprisingly tall clouds causing isolated little mirco showers around. As I was driving to get lunch, I was in full sun yet raindrops were falling on my window. Then received about 10 seconds of ice pellets (at 46F in full sun!). First winter precip of the year! Nice to cross that one off the list.

Yes, bizarre micro showers today on and off. Quite sunny yet you feel water on your head randomly!

Hit a low of 42 downtown last night; coldest low of the season thus far. A freeze seems unlikely at this point. This is going to be a very late year for toronto's first frost

Those showers were briefly mixed in with ice pellets/sleet/grapuel in downtown Toronto around 1 this afternoon.

Cool! I was up in North York unfortunately where it was just cold rain showers.

I've been meaning to ask you, Toronto4, what was your total snowfall amounts for 2011-12 season DT?

34.1 cm, but there is some missing data at the official downtown Toronto station from late Dec. 2011 to early 2012. Snow fell on Dec. 27th and Dec. 29th, so data from those two dates are missing for now. Hopefully down the road it will be filled in.
