Warmth is cause of the warm front plowing through the region ahead of the cold front. Temperatures should drop off nicely tonight to around 34-38F. Should get much cooler over the next few days, snow cover building up across Northern Ontario and that may help  fuel the cold air coming down. A few flurries is quite possible tomorrow night through Thursday morning. I expect temperatures to hover around 41-44F on Wednesday and Thursday with overnight lows at the freezing point.

Warm and cold front can clearly be seen on a temperature plot; cool air on the way for sure. Was pleasantly surprised walking outside at lunch hour, still pretty warm in the sun although the wind sort of counters that. Certainly possible that flurries could be seen but I'd suspect them to be more in the Bruce/Huron area than the GTA, although its not entirely out of the question.

Yes, I agree it's not very likely we'll see any flakes. Quite nice out for sure in the sun! I think temps should be around 50F, I would be shocked to see highs any lower than 45 from this trough for the GTA

Looks like a widespread hard freeze is likely as long as we get some clearing tonight. 4km NAM has all of SE WI in the mid-upper 20's tonight.

BTW Lone Rock is reporting -SN currently. Nothing showing up on radar but wouldn't be surprised if something is falling out of the low stratus deck.

I think most of these clouds are instability. It was partly sunny about 3 hours ago.

Nice catch!

House was down to 60 last night, so had to flip on the furnace for the first time this year.

Yeah currently 52F or 11C at the airport and i expect a steady drop off in the next few hours as the cold front moves through.

Temperatures away from the Lake should get down to 0-1C or 32F tonight and around 38F near the Lake depending how fast the skies clear. Could see some flurries tomorrow night and Wednesday evening. Looking at the long range models we should see another trough developing around Halloween time after this weekend and that could be the coldest by far, if anything, the chances of snow maybe higher at that point in the GTA than the next few days.

Could be a battle between the Atlantic and Pacific as we begin November esp with the +AO depicted on the GFS.

Nice.  Remember when measuring to place the base of the ruler on the wood surface, and not the cement next to it.  :lmao:

I hope you're not going to leave it elevated like that.

I'll set it in the grass. I was doing a little touch up with flat white spray paint. Edit: In the grass now.

Has anyone else noticed that the same areas to the west who saw the warmth a few weeks ago are the same ones who are feeling the dramatic cool down this week. Its cooler outside today but still no freeze or heavy frost at home. Almost broke out the gloves this am loading the water truck, wet hands in the brisk wind really felt like winter.

lol Otherwise the Mt. Geos jokes will start again. Thanks for reminding me that I need to repaint mine. I never thought I'd get to use it in October again, but you never know.

They seemed to still fly at the end of last winter during that late February storm. I had the photographic evidence to back up my claims though!  :P

34° now with a few passing clouds.
