buckeye
I get the impression that the transition period will be fairly short. We could be snowing by midnight. I agree, very little pink...mostly green to white

weatherbo
Heading down to Hillsboro/Wilmington area today for a weekend visit to my sister. Considering scrapping the trip altogether. Need to see where the ice sets up. Seems further south than last nights thinking. Also I 75 doesn't sound line fun tonight either.

That area, just to the sw of CMH, is probably gonna be the epicenter for heaviest snow according to one of the mets here. Said around 10" possible there. Speaking of travel, OSU football team busses leave for Indy at 11:30am, that I-70 stretch between CMH and Indy is probably going to be one of the worst stretches of highway in the country today. buckeye
Buckeye are you seeing snow in Westerville? yes, it's light...flurries...but at least it all appears to be snow. Not hearing any pings. Hopefully that indicates the mixing will be done when the heavier stuff moves in.
jbcmh81
Buckeye are you seeing snow in Westerville? Am seeing light snow on the West Side with the very thin band that's developed. Looking at radar, this is the real beginning to our snow. I'm still thinking at least 8" for Columbus, if not 10".

vespasian70
Newark is going to do fine...I'm sure you're predominantly snow from here on out Yea, the way that moisture train is setting up looks to clock a line roughly Dayton to Columbus to Newark. And daytime snow with such a low December sun angle should be no problem.

oldlogin
Snowfall rate is steadily increasing here . Flake size also. As to who gets the Jackpot its going to depend on how the bands set up. Guessing the Vis is down to 3/4 and continuing to lower

Yeah, the snow band just now entering southern Madison County should be what starts us off with the steady stuff. It's been tantalizingly close for awhile now, but is finally coming in. iluvsnow
Now to be a Debbie downer...but I am in Bellbrook....15 miles Southeast of Dayton....and in clear trajectory to Columbus for the precip and type. We had about a 30 minute snow shower this morning...but now we have switched back to sleet and freezing rain...no snow flakes. The warm upper layer must still be holding strong. We received no snow over night...all sleet and freezing rain. Concerned the warm layer will end up prevailing through most of the event.

iluvsnow
It worked...complaining about the sleet and freezing rain caused it to immediately change to snow. Snowing moderately now in Bellbrook....temp is 29. Keep that one in your back pocket
dilly84
Bout to make major shift to my call and go against what model guidance is saying. Snow clearly is north or where models showed. Well north as the axis of heavy snow is north of CMH
