Cincy12
8 miles West of Downtown Cincy here no Snow or Ice here quite yet. I've been reading refreshing the americanwx screen for 5 days now! All for a upset of 1-3 snow. Hopefully everyone is wrong and it all stays snow!
buckeye
What are your thoughts from Louisville to Cincy, buckeye? cincy is partying with cmh tonight...I think we have similar results. Louisville might have more taintage. I'm sticking with 3-5" thump from the front with some wet taint on the rear.
fogbreath
Even if this busts, I might adopt the attitude of The Black Knight from Holy Grail King Arthur: Now stand aside, worthy weatherman. Black Knight: 'Tis a blizzard! King Arthur: Well, what's that then? (Points at pooling rain) Black Knight: I've had worse. King: You liar! jbcmh81
The low looks to be in south-central LA or just off the coast still. Hard to tell.
buckeye
Are we interested again? ? Lol No. At least not unless we all wake up tomorrow with at least 6". jbcmh81
Hey, might as well ride this thing all the way to the end (ground) after so much time watching it. The models have been jerking us around for days now, so even the 18z NAM is not going to satisfy me. I'll be nowcasting and watching the low's position and downstream obs. If that verifies it would be disastrous! I hope for your sake, it does not. Good luck!
jbcmh81
I'm also curious to see what ILN does. They fully bought into the 12z NAM and now that's shifted well SE of that run. I don't even like following this as a casual observer, so I can't imagine their frustrations.
iluvsnow
Cincy 12....that NAM precipitation chart if from the 12z. Try it for the 18z. Should be different and better!

Quite honestly it's the fact that we are riding the razor edge that's gluing me to this. If we were in the bullseye I probably would turn off the radar. This could be like Dec'04 where the southeastern corner of Franklin county gets an icestorm and the nw corner gets buried.

Hope I'm wrong.

buckeye
wasn't living here at the time. That sounds nuts! that one was more of a north to south orientation with the gradient. New Albany had an epic icestorm and Hilliard got like a foot of snow. Westerville had the combo platter, about 7" followed by quarter inch ice. Pickerington plain rain. yea...crazy

dilly84
Hey off topic. Here's my brothers prediction. He thinks he's better at this than me.. what do you say to this prediction. Fwd: Okay, so you've made your prediction, now I'm gonna tell ya what's gonna happen.. Starting tomorrow night it's gonna rain, after midnight, the rain will change over to snow, with very little to no accumulation, then on Wednesday, no snow, possibly a lil rain. Temps will be steady enough, that they won't reach the dew point, and I doubt it even rains.. now, if you've been paying attention to the jet stream, you'd notice that it's cutting all the way down into Tennessee, and it's not very cold air, all of the precipitation is occurring along the boundary, well to our south, Zanesville and counties south of Columbus have the greatest chance at seeing some snow, but really no more Than a couple inches.. The wind will dry things up really fast as it's raining, and the little bit of snow will be falling on wet ground. I see us with a chance of possibly an inch of show by the 6th.. Don't delete this either Willis! Like · Delete · Yesterday at 4:50am

If we were in the bullseye I probably would turn off the radar. This could be like Dec'04 where the southeastern corner of Franklin county gets an icestorm and the nw corner gets buried. We had better not get that again. Remember that well. Transformers blowing, trees cracking like rifle shots...up all night just waiting for the big tree between my house and the neighbor's house to send a big limb onto one of the houses. In the end, almost the entire tree down, but all of it away from the houses(thank God). Held onto power too while most lost it where I was. So we had half a foot of snow with a glacier atop it. Thing I remember most about that nasty storm- People trying to clear the glacier off their cars and either knocking out their windows or knocking the door handles off the cars. It was brutal...two inches of glacial ice over the cars. We had BETTER not have that S%^^& again! I have a graduation to go to-my own! I will take rain or snow-no glacial stuff!!!!!!!
