Quincy
Hurricane Isabel was a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 105 MPH when it made landfall between Cape Lookout and Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina on the afternoon of September 18th, 2003. The storm caused significant damage across the mid-Atlantic region and was responsible for at least 16 U.S. deaths. The estimated damage from the storm in 2013 dollars was $7.11 billion. The hurricane was a Category 5 (strongest possible) hurricane for a time east of the Bahamas before it gradually weakened. Heavy rain hit much of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia, while the storm surge was most significant along the North Carolina coast. A portion of Hatteras Island was breached by the storm, creating a new inlet. Here's a composite look of the track of Isabel:
Cold Rain
Ahhh, those were the days....when we used to have hurricanes. I worked from home the day that one arrived and enjoyed hearing the wind gusts, though they weren't all that strong.
WidreMann
Was stuck in between rain bands for that storm. It was meh. Still the most recent tropical cyclone to actually produce any wind of note here.

I remember heavy rain and wind in Mebane as well.
