ravensrule
I heard some guy criticizing him on CNBC and he made sense but since he probably gives away every year more than I make, I'm not the one to throw stones at him Unless you make 3 billion a year I think he does. Some how I doubt you even make the .084 . http://www.forbes.com/sites/susanadams/2013/02/11/the-americans-who-gave-away-the-most-money-in-2012/

mattie g
Hey, I resent that - we're in the rural triangle south of Braddock, 3-5 acre lots and I can legally hunt in the forest across the street (two years ago my neighbors took a deer in the woods behind their house and cleaned it in the cul-de-sac - yeah they are rednecks). Ashburn, yeah, that is miles and miles of townhouses. That's awesome. Even here in the closer suburbs, there's a place where guys deer hunt right down the street from a row of townhouses only a couple miles from me. Bow hunting only, but they set up their blinds along a creek that runs under high-tension wires and get to it.
Ian
What's a good day trip from DC? Probably foliage related and somewhere I can bring my dog. Thinking of renting a car this weekend.

Cunningham Falls/Catoctin Plenty of places to stop and hike or just take pics plus, it won't be anywhere near as bad as Skyline Drive with the people

H20's Luray suggestion is a good one. It'll be really crowded probably (especially on weekends) but probably worth it. Lots of driving for good color. The crowds will probably be worse because of the shutdown ending.
Avdave
Green ridge state forest in Alleghany county MD near Flintstone Md. Great views very little people. It's a hidden gem off I 68. Or go past Cumberland Md to Frostburg MD and go to Dans Rock off Rt 36. It's right on the Alleghany Front with trails and some awesome views down Into the Potomac river valley and US 220. Also before Cumberland is Rocky Gap state park. Gorgeous lake and hiking trail up Evitts Mtn. All off I 68 and away from the high tourist places closer to DC

Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Elegant beyond belief and spectacular views. Your girl would love it. Must try Sam Sneads for dinner if you go. Has a small casino also.
