Autumn 2013 Banter Thread

Just a few days away from the official start of Autumn 2013 we have a distinct chill in the air. A few locations may see its first frost tonight before temps moderate late in the week.

Long range models are pointing towards a more blocky pattern setting up over the western Atlantic with occasional hints of a tropical system or hybrid near the SE US coast in the next two weeks. Although model support for this feature is limited, it's certainly something to keep the mind occupied. In any event, tropical or not, the 06z GEFS is showing lots of support for strong low pressure along the US Coast around day 10 so things should be heating up.
