Met1985
Wow it is hammering here again. Just looked out and just a whiteout. Up to almost 9 inches of snow know. Wow can we go for a foot!
jacobr57
We might make it past 10 inches, especially with that possible comma head in the morning What is the likelihood of the comma head coming through tomorrow morning at this point? WNC_Fort
Around 6.5 inches here now. Still putting it down. After my weenie attack this morning I should be grateful for this much! But if that over Birmingham could come here

jacobr57
the SREF shows 4-5 more inches, but I'm not sure how much of that we've already had. Because it's the 21z run, which is 4 pm EST, right? Thus the first 4-5 hours of the run would already be included in our totals. Is that right? wncsnow
Yea if this stays all snow here and it has so far.. im thinking 12 inches is very possible.. almost halfway there now 5.5 just measured

We still have a long ways to go with this system, nearing 6" in Boone. I don't see how we get under a foot

WxBlue
Well, it doesn't look like we'll make it to a foot, but 8-10 inches could be the final here.
NavarreDon
Hey guys, no exaggeration here, I just went & measured my board & all of them were in between 7.75 & 8"! It is still ripping here. Temp is steady @ 24.9°. At 4 pm I had a hair over a inch, so it has been some stellar rates & I'm guessing this has to be a 12-1 ratio.

From Robert: For Alabama, northern Georgia, southern and eastern TN, and western Carolinas tonight....this upper low means business. It is producing extreme snowfall rates right now as it slowly crawls through Birmingham. This will slowly pivot northeast slowly overnight and into the western Carolinas, turning the sleet back over to heavy snow in it's wake. Cities to be affected will be Chattanooga, Rome, Atlanta, Athens, Asheville, Greenville-Spartanburg, Charlotte, and Hickory by morning. The core of the spinning upper low will produce extreme snowfall rates and some convective snow is possible at some point on it's trek.

Man it seemslike it has been ripping since about 4 today. I mean 1-2 maybe 3 incher per hours rates. Like Robert said the best is still in front of us! Like Robert said the best is still in front of us! Just want an opinion, do you think that low is going to hit us? I can't tell if Robert is saying it's likely, or if it's just a possibility. I'm definitely not banking on it, but those rates would certainly be an awesome thing to witness. Edit: Would also love Tracker's thoughts.
